But did he hate Britain? ... that's the important question.

1997 - not exactly news is it!
Question Author
Didn't Milliband Snr die in 1994 ? and that does appear to be "News".

Pathetic!
True - was he ugly looking like his sons?

I quite liked Maggie - she is the only PM that we have had who had some balls.

Balearic - I hope you are not calling Andrew pathetic. I know his sister and she has a big, evil girl cat who eats Dobies for breakfast.
It's completely different. The question about Milliband Snr is did he influence his son's political views (which is highly likely in the first instance)? Most people start by being influenced by their parent's politics. On the other hand surely no-one is suggesting gropers a) hate Britain b) make their children grope?
He was a man of some standing in his community. Perhaps he thought his role as an alderman allowed him droit du seigneur where the local girls were concerned.

I assume that Baldric was referring to Thatcher Snr misuse of his power and influence to get his thrills as "Pathetic". I agree.

the story about the woman cyclist was more interesting lol

For the Hard of Understanding, I am referring to the constant Bandwagon Jumping attempts to dig dirt on the UK's Best PM of my lifetime and her Family!
Apparently Adolf Hitler's dad wasn't very nice either. There's a definite pattern emerging here.

We can all have a Google and find this sort of thing

From, 'Scottish Express'
//A quick look at the documents held in the National Records of Scotland throws up a multitude of potential stories and scandals, such as the Salmonds charged with habitual housebreaking in Edinburgh in the 1830s, the Robert Salmond accused of embezzling funds from the City of Glasgow Bank in 1879,//
What's the Point?
Do you think the treatment of Ed's deceased father is fair then Baldric, because you're not a fan?
well well !

Ed, I think it's unnecessary to drag it up, and even more so in the case of Thatcher who has no bearing on the case whatsoever.

well it didn't take long for the Thatcher haters to prepare another feast of vitriol did it!

Gawd. You people never cease to amaze me. Does your family have any skeletons in the closet that you know nothing of? What will happen when some genealogist decides to dig the dirt on them. Then what will you do?
I always thought Thatcher's father was a grocer.
Turns out that may have been a misprint ...
Groper, grocer is it another Jimmy Savile witch hunt? Where ever we look nowadays someone is digging up the dirt on someone quite dead..... or not far off.... and done for. It certainly didn't affect the way she ran the country.
