amidst the events yesterday in Woolwich there's alot of nationalist sloganism being posted on FB usually with 'Proud to be British' as the forerunner.

Are you 'Proud to be British'?

I'm not. Recently in Wales the English B&B owner was telling me of all the anti-English pubs not to visit. In Scotland my English in-laws have been refused service in a shop because they are English.

So am I proud to be English.

Again not really. Northerners may refer to me as a 'southern softie' etc etc. Less spiteful than our Scots and Welsh neighbours but definitely an us/them thing going on with the North Divide.

So am I proud to be Southern?

Not really. I support Southampton and wouldnt dream of driving my car with its 'scummer' stickers on in Portsmouth.

So am I proud to be me?

not always!

No I am not.
I'm Scottish originally and the nearest I get to being 'proud' to be Scottish is when I say "no I'm not British, I'm Scottish". That said, I hate with a passion hysterical jingoism.
I was once, though to be thought of as some nationalist BNP supporting numpty doesn't make me particularly glad.
No, I'm neither proud to be British or English. I made no decision as to where I was born and frankly there is little left of Britain that I would want to be proud of.
seb....LOL.....

I'm English, and proud to be.
I'm proud to be European.

I couldn't care less about being British or being English - except , of course, where cricket is concerned!
I am proud to be English.
On the whole, all in all, despite the bad (which you get in all nationalities) - yes, I am.
Yes.....My car was an GB make
It has a nodding bulldog
English flat on number plates
Union Flag on wing mirror

Dont cross me or you'll get an english KUTAss
I'm proud to be English and British, most of the Welsh/Scotts are anti English because they are gutted they just missed out.
I'm pro Scottish though, I'm urging any English people living in Scotland to vote for independence, don't say I'm not doing my bit down here!
Im very proud to English/British.

Snafu, I have visited Wales many times to all parts of Wales, I have found the Welsh so friendly we are moving to Wales very soon, I have certainly found them more friendly and accommodating than the English to be honest.
I really have never given it any thought...........I am not sure, although I am patriotic rather than proud.

If it is of any help, the majority of Brits, in the village that i centre my life around are thought to be rude, arrogant, inconsiderate of local traditions, intolerant and confrontational.

Not all Brits are thought of in this way though.

If you treat them with respect, then they will return the gesture.

Proud?.......maybe...........not sure......
