Did you notice how uninterested Prince Philip was towards the crowds clapping and wishing him well, outside Church today ? I even noticed someone in a wheelchair waiting outside church. What is it about the Royal Family that makes people queue for hours in the cold and wet when certain members can't even be bothered to look at them ?

I can't possibly imagine.
Seriously? Did it occur to you that the 90 year old man who has just had a heart operation, might not have been up to it?

Most 90 year olds in his situation would be at home in bed. He's done bloody well to be up and about!
Prince Philip has just been ill... If I was recovering from being in hospital I wouldn't really be in the mood to be friendly and chatty either! He didn't ask the numpties to wait outside for him.
I thought he smiled and acknowledged the applause with a wave, he really wouldn't be up to a Royal walkabout ....
damned if you do and damned if you dont...

He is 90 years old and just had a heart operation what did you expect him to do? The people who waited outside the church will have been pleased just to see him out and about and making a steady recovery.

I know he has been ill, but he was walking OK, not slowly, wasn't in a wheelchair, a smile and a wave cost nothing.
He smiled and waved.
why not write a letter of complaint that he did not do enough in your opinion?

Sorry but saw the news twice and didn;t see him look at anyone, just walked with Prince Edward

Perhaps the news was edited!
what really? it was live and uninterrupted so we can have an unbiased view??!

I suppose you really had to be there for these things, the media love to make something out of nothing, or nothing out of something
Prince Philip has been very ill, had an operation, insisted on coming out of hospital and recuperation and getting back "on the job". He is probably trying to put on a show of being well and fit and it is amazing that he turned out at all. Good on him. I am sure that he is, right now, more needy than those who turned up to catch a glimpse of the royal family.
He DID acknowledged those there when he came out of the church,
perhaps you didn't watch it all.
I wish him well, at his age he is doing well.
Do you know what it is like to be gawked at when your not well?
Do the Royal Family sign autographs ever? I have not heard of this being done.
The point is that people turn up to see the Royal Family. The Royal Family do not turn up to see the people. They are going about their business - in this case to go to church. Some members do stop and mingle, accept flowers, etc, but this is as they feel like it. I saw pictures on internet of Philip mingling with the crowd today and was amazed that he was out at all.
