Recipients of the medals wear them on the left.
Your grandson ought to wear them on the right and with great pride. :o)
I think any 'old campaigners' would be touched to see a young lad remembering his great-grandfathers endeavours.

The question is the next to last on the list
I think it's a great idea, he should be very proud of his Great Grandfather, especially on Sunday of all days.
No, it won't be frowned upon - and nor should it. It's a lovely idea. :o)
Beautiful idea. Would make me cry if I witnessed it !

wear them with pride, I have seen any number of young people wearing dad's or grandads medals at the Cenotaph, so yes i would say.

ok, im convinced, if i get a photo i may post a link to it. His gt grandad(my dad) served in Burma, hardly spoke about.
Chas, a little anecdote that I hope will make you smile. As a teenager I spoke to an old soldier, a POW who worked on the Burma railway. Having watched 'The Bridge on the River Kwai', and subsequently read about the terrible conditions those men suffered at the hands of the Japanese, I listened, fascinated.

Knowing that many had died of starvation, when he finished his story I said naively, 'Did they feed you?'

'Of course they fed me' he said, laughing. 'I'd be dead now if they hadn't!'

How I admired his resilience - and his ability to retain a sense of humour. Those men deserve our greatest respect. I doubt we'll ever see their like again. Your grandson should wear those medals with the utmost pride. :o)
On the right with much pride.
