Any recommenations of which pubs are best on a Fri/Sat night in Edinburgh. A group of about 10 of us are going in October and would appreciate a pointer on which areas are good. We're all in our mid 20's. Also is it true that in many pubs in the city they won't let in a group of more than 3 people? Thanks.

Try the Grassmarket - good selection of pubs - plenty of Hen Parties if you wish to score.

Thanks for the advice but I'm actually a woman going with my husband and other couples!!!
West End, Shandwick Place area. Which is then near enough Lothian Road and Rose Street to give you plenty variety. Enjoy!
Ive been a few times and never noticed any problems with groups - specially if your a mixed group! grassmarket has the older pubs with more character then there is Rose Street at the back of Princes Street which has lots of pubs! You cant go wrong its a fab city! Great mexican in Cockburn Street too!
