Have you ever been mistaken for somebody famous ?

For my part when i travel around the country watching my beloved Surrey C.C.C i often get mistaken for former England cricket captain Mike Gatting, even though i am obviously younger and slimmer (cough).

But when a young boy or girl comes up and asks for your autograph (almost certainly at their dad's behest) what else can you do but smile politely and scribble away ?

DMA are you free to do a gig at the Dog & Duck Friday night ? 20 cash, 2 pints of beer and a free run at the buffet, what do you say ?

Markja my 25 year old niece has a "thing" about Philip Schofield ( i think it stems from his Gordon the Gopher days ) she's an odd girl, maybe i can hook you two up.

Joko - Lucky you.

Thankyou very much, ahaha!!

Lisa Rogers... think that's the one I mean. The one with the short bobbed hair, done presenting. Only thing is, I don't look anything like her!

I quite like Lisa Rogers. Shes the one who was seeing that bloke from the Royal Family
im often mistaken for george clooney arf
Helen Chamberlin (Is that correct) the bird who does the footie programme.Signed loads of autographs. The best was the bunch of Villa fans I met in Ibiza. Had photos took with me and could'nt wait to get home to tell their mates who they'd met. Bless, they did'nt notice I also had a Brummie accent (Is'nt HC from down south?). They must have thought that was my posh TV voice!!
I have been mistaken for former Liverpool and now Lyon manager Gerard Houllier. I wasn't impressed - he's a good 20 years older than me :-( Why the silly old goat who mistook me for him should think that Gerard Houllier would be working in a shop in Bognor Regis is beyond me.

Someone else thought I looked like Jeff Goldblum (albeit a bit podgier), who is also older than me. So there you have it - a cross between a Frenchman with a dodgy ticker and a man who turned into a fly. Ho hum. Form an orderly queue, ladies.

I was at a car show once and someone thought I was NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon
That was ten years ago. I have changed, he has not.

i got mistaken for olizargor morvickivic once, i would'nt mind but i look nothing like him.

I have been mistaken on several occasions for the actor, Denholm Elliot. A bit of a back handed compliment as I point out he has been dead for a couple of years !!

Mr_pointment that was George and not Rosemary was'nt it ?

Ezapf i would'nt mind being mistaken for Jeff Gordon, he looks quite the hunk.

Treacle i met Lisa Rogers once, she's tiny (but lovely)

Richard Gere,

not so bad in the UK or anywhere else in Europe but a couple of years ago I was in the US and when I wasnt in uniform (I was in the Army then) I was having a devil of a job convincing the good citizens oif Washington and New York that I wasnt putting on a fake Scottish accent for a movie part. Even showing them my I.D card only made them think it was a prop for a hollywood war film

steptoe, i'll not say which one
Years ago, when my hair was longer,I was mistaken for one of the twins in Neighbours.I couldn't see it myself ! But I was well pleased!! Like johnlambert,my husband has been referred to as Richard Gere. Its the good head of grey hair that does it!
Many many years ago, I was chased by a crowd of schoolgirls who thought I was Cliff Richard. This was both extremely scary (I hid in the toilets of the bus station), and extremely annoying, as I can't stand the bloke, his face, his hair or his dress style.

Yeah DMA, that's her. She was seeing Ralf Little I think. Yeah I think she is pretty actually but I don't look like her. Similar hair maybe but that's it :-)

Several people have told me that I look like (bloody) Davina. Oh joy!x
