What happened to Clair? The one that Gilbert O'Sullivan sang about.


Clair, the moment I met you I swear


I felt as if something somewhere


Had happened to me, that I couldn't see


But then, the moment I met you again...etc.


Remember? She must be well into her thirties now. You couldn't get away with a song like that now could you?

No she was the daughter of Gordon Mills, Gilbert's manager, who alos managed Tom Jones for a while. Sadly, there was a court case involving the redistribution of royalties, which made Gilbert a millionaire overnight, and I'm pretty sure Gordon Mills died of cancer.

Interesting interview, but misleading. "Clair" was only number one for two weeks, not 14 as stated in the article.
