I hate using this site now. There are so many adverts popping up all over the place that it makes it almost impossible to read the page as it jumps around as each advert appears. I used to come here several times a week but now only occasionally.

I must admit, it's getting on my nerves.
Like you said, everything keeps jumping around and some times I can't see what I'm typing. On too of that, it sometimes takes me to a different page.
I've been having the same problem the past few days. The page jumps as ads suddenly appear between answers. Until now, I've had few ads and none of the complaints many others have had.

seems you cant advise the solution's on here ?
Was just going to say that itchycopark
It's in the Site Rules. Any post describing how to, or even just recommending, bypass the ads will be removed.
The ads provide Answerbank with the income it needs to run the site and make a profit. You wouldn't expect Tesco to give advice on shoplifting
I'm having that problem too. It is the same ad (video gamer - new south park game) and there's 2 at the top of the page, 2 at the bottom of the page, a long ad at both left and right of the page, plus two in between answers.

8 ads, all advertising the same thing, of which I have no interest at all. I close them down so that I can see what I'm typing, but in a flash they pop up again. :0(

It puts me off using Answerbank, for sure.
It's a double-edged sword. The same ads which generate income to keep the site going are becoming so irritating that they are gradually driving more and more people away.
Certainly a pain when trying to answer, most of answer box covered by two overlapping ads. Feliway and Reebok at the monent!
dunno why but I don't see any ads at all. Must be something you can set on your own PC or whatever you use.

Tyrion, do any of the adverts make a noise? If so, let the Ed know.
It is mentioned here:

It might be worth trying a different web browser. I use Slimjet. Although it comes with a built-in ad-blocker, that has to be disabled in order to view The Answerbank with it anyway, so I'm NOT recommending trying to block the ads. (Fellow moderators please note!). However the site seems to load smoothly in Slimjet so that, apart possibly from those annoying little videos at the foot of the page, the ads aren't particularly over-intrusive).

What adverts? None on my mobile.

I don't have a blocker. Apart from rejecting all cookies I don't do anything to stop them.
If there are any particularly intrusive ads, please do make a note of them/the companies they are advertising. Whilst Ads are a part of AB now, I did understand that the Editors were keen for them not to be too disruptive.
It's not only a lot of ads but most of the ads have something moving all the time. Very distracting.
As I said in last post about ads, no other site I go on is as intrusive as AB. So the excuse about generating income is not true.
I've got a shirts one at the moment and all the individual little pictures are moving continuously.
Hopkirk, maybe your browser has a built in adblocker - some do
