Remembering Phone Numbers!

Mr Smow dropped me at an appointment yesterday and said to call him when I wanted picking up. For a split second I thought I’d left my mobile at home and it then occurred to me that if I had, and had to use another phone to ring him, I wouldn’t actually have a clue what his number was! Like most people everyone is just stored in my phone under their name - apart from my own number I couldn’t possibly tell you a single other persons mobile phone number! Is it just me?? Lol

Dave's the one in this house, he just picks up the house phone and dials anyone's number, never checks a phone book.
It's rare I phone anyone when I'm away from home apart from my usual taxi firm whose number I know well.

I keep a small card in my purse with essential numbers written down just in case.
Some I remember some I have no idea
It's a certain type of memory which commits such things to permanent storage. I can't really do it with phone numbers, apart from a handful which no longer exist, but I can remember the number plate of every car I've ever owned.

The ONLY number I know off by heart is my mother in laws landline lol
I know a few landline numbers but wouldn't have a clue of anyone's mobile, including my own!
That's a good tip from Mamya as I don't have a clue what other peoples mobile or landline numbers are. I know people who don't even know what their own number is!
You've made me wonder now, Smow, when was the last time that I actually called a personal land line. I know of only one person of around my age who doesn't own a mobile, but he has an email address so I really have never had any occasion to call his land line. I don't even know if he has one, though I'd assume he does...
^ That's me, Barsel!
JimF Yesterday I booked my car in for a service and when they asked for my reg, I had to look out of the window where my car is on the drive. Didn't have a clue.

Lol fbg40 - she must have a photographic memory
I am terrible at remember phone numbers. My mobile phone cover has a small pocket, I keep a piece of paper in there with my mobile phone number on it. Someone told me they do it, and I thought it was a good idea.
We’re doing away with our landline in the near future as we never use it, and the only calls we get on it are from recorded scammers. We’ve given either or both of our mobile numbers to anyone who needs to contact us, for the last four or five years.
The only number I remember with any certainty is my mum’s divi number for the Co op all those years ago.
I have a very good memory with both landlines and mobiles ,well those that are important enough for me to remember
Good tip there. Must do that, keep numbers on a paper next to my bus pass. Thank you.
Sooty has more idea than me, now I think about it when it comes to mob no.s. I used to know and still remember 'old' land line no.s.
I'll make a note in my mobile must buy a purse. ;-)
