I understand that you accrue annual leave whilst on maternity leave.
Our annual leave year runs Jan to December and I get 25 days per annum. By the tiime I return in September I will have accrued about 17 days.
However someone also told me that as I usually get paid Bank Holidays I should be having any Bank Holidays added to these17 days (so New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Bank holidays x 2 plus August Bank Hol before I return (plus Christmas bank holidays from last year as I went on leave in September 2012) - do you know if this is correct? I have looked on Direct.giv and cannot see a specific reference about Bank Holidays.
I am popping into work tomorrow for a KIT day so would like to raise it then!

thanks

If you are normally entitled to 25 days plus Bank Holidays then that is still the case while you are in Mat Leave.

Where I work people take the holiday and Bank Hols once their work mat pay runs out and when they are into stat mat pay only. Talk to HR tomorrow and they'll explain how it works for you.

Thanks Maydup - yes I am planning on taking my accrued holiday as a lump sum payment when my SMP runs out next month however HR seems to have 'overlooked' the Bank Holiday situation which amounts to another 8 days....!
I feel a bit cheeky really as I will be taking a full year off, plus I am getting 17 days already, not really sure how to say 'by the way you actually owe me another 8 days...''??!!
