Just returned from an anthropological expedition to Planet Blackpool with many questions, but this is one somebody may be able to answer: How thick is the glass on the Walk of Faith in Blackpool Tower and/or what is the maximum load?

This webpage ^ is badly laid out but it does give you your answer.  Look for one of the pink sections that starts:

1. In September 1893 local journalists became the first members of the public to ascend the Tower using constructors ladders.

You'll see there that the glass is apparently 2" thick and can hold up to 5 baby elephants.

Why the Blackpool Tourism site doesn't supply this information I do not know.  They really should do!

I bet it's bloomin scary either way! :-)

all i can say is f@&k that for fun!! wouldnt get me on it lol
Baby elephants should be banned from Blackpool Tower

If you think that's scary, click on this link to the CN Tower in Toronto. It's 553 metres(1,815 feet) tall,AND it has a partial glass floor too! I have been up it,and stood on the floor;much to may other visitors fright! LOL

I am agreeement about those poor baby elephants!! : )
And omg mystress!!! that looks very scary!! you are either very brave or very stupid!!
I will go with brave because obviously they couldnt have it without safety checks and stuff but still you wouldnt catch me anywhere near that thing, makes me feel nauseous just looking at it!!!
