Lonnie, like you I think it is, I'd go back in if I was 17 again, like a shot.

I remember my grandad who fought in WW1 and WW2 ask the same question during the 'swinging 60's' when the beatles et al at their height and the protests at the Vietnam, miners union strikes and so on. He'd turn in his grave if he read the link you posted though

I suppose us 'old + bold' will always find something to whinge about.
You remember the saying? "Old soldiers don't die, they re-org in hell"
Every country has its army and we must show more respect for men/women who join the forces and volunteer their lives for our safety. The service of G.Britain is a worthy career when you acknowledge the life (operative word) this country offers you. Most of the world aspire to Britains traditions, culture and generosity inviting our multi-racial community. We do have our internal conflicts but when 'outsiders' attack WE WILL STAND TOGETHER!

Thats one of the present day problems, we won't all stand together, the UK has been split up, and a certain religious sect would most certainly not stand with us if we were attacked.

But thats my view.
