The Trident Company went ito receivership in 2007. I have a Trident Excel fire which has gone defective, but the shop I purchased it from say they cannot get spares because Trident have ceased trading. There are rumours that they are being bought out and spares and servicing may again be made available. Does anyone know any more ?

never heard of trident at all, must be right mickey mouse.

your best bet is to look up the phone number for "gas on spares" on their website and then give them a ring and see if they know anything, they are gas fire and cooker spare part specialists, they are based in halesowen west midlands.

what spare part do you need?

Possibly Mickey Mouse, but I understand they had been manufacturing gas fires for at least 15 to 20 years. They still feature on many sites googled on the internet (although I hope they are not really supplying these (unsupported) fires !!.
They were also sold by around 50% of the gas fire showrooms we visited before buying. I suppose if we knew then that they were going to go bust we would not have bought this fire. But then with that sort of pre-cognition, we would not have needed a fire as we would have been living in the bahamas or somewhere, exchanging visits with Beckhams and so on. Anyway. thanks for the info. re gas-on-spares. I have visited their site and got their contact info, and I will contact them. I do not know what spare is needed, ( possibly a solenoid). If they can supply Trident spares, then I will notify the shop where I bought the fire, then they can fault find and attempt to obtain the required spare from gas on spares.
