Old teacups and saucers

I've seen people selling vintage teacups which they have turned into candles, but does anyone have any other ideas for recycling old teacups and saucers? I see lots of pretty ones at the car boot, and thought it would be nice to use them for something other than drinking from.

If they are not particularly good and worth breaking up, I saw a long while back a mosaic panel which someone had made from old crockery (setting it in plaster).
