I've just ordered a new blazer for the boy and have opted to collect from the store as opposed to paying delivery charges... and they're going to charge me £3.95 to do so!!! Is this a bloody cheek or what! Rant over....

so £3.95 for them.... errr, being a shop and doing what shops do, i.e. having stock you can go in and buy.

Yep, that sounds fair

The blazer is £10 and they're charging me £3.95 to go and collect it... bit of a bloody cheek.. don't you think?
i know but it is free if you order over a certain amount i think. it was a farce when i went to collect something. i used a card that i keep in my desk that i dont know a pin for. i had to go and collect from the dvd stand at the back.as refund was over fifty pounds i think they sent me to customer services and was told i wouldnt need my pin. went to customer services, was told i needed pin and they couldnt do it anyway as was over fifty pounds. got sent back to entertainment desk and they returned it back through on their order system that is so archaic. it made my hubby ill, he had to go and sit in the car. he has a bad back, there was a large box of cushions and was returning and jeans. the manager was called to sort it out, she didnt even acknowledge me standing there so i had a real go at her, was i invisible. i have never known anything be so difficult. never again!

To add insult in injury it would only cost £2.95 to get it delivered!!!
Can you just ask them to "put it aside" for you ... and then just go in and buy it for £10?

Done and dusted now JJ. What a bloody swizz tho, asking for nearly four quid to go and collect, when they will delivery for less!! Got to go an search for a school blazer badge to sew on to the pocket now.. that child should be paying for this himself as he lost the thing in the first place...!!!
Today they are opening a Tesco in Welling (Kent) that will end my association with ASDA.

I have lonf decided that ASDA is run for...ASDA in the main unhelpful staff, aisles cluttered with asda cages, baskets etc. lack of diversity.

Tell 'em to shove it.
Tesco Direct did the same thing to me, I remember two christmases ago they wanted to charge me £4.95 for something if I collected it in store ! I phoned Head Office and told them to stuff it and bought the item in John Lewis, it was cheaper plus free delivery to my home. I am not sure if Tesco still charge delivery if you collect in store. What a rip off.
They probably do, thinking about it, as the Tesco Direct counter in new Malden is always empty.
