Is it very easy to get a job at Matalan than Primark?

Basically I work at Primark and I now know that they don't hire pretty much everyone who hasn't got any experience whatsoever anymore. As they are very widely known to hire people like that.

I had a job interview there just on Friday at the Walsall Reedswood branch and now they're still doing interviews throughout the week. I'm waiting until the end of the week (probably between Friday and Saturday) to find out if I got the job.

I spoke to a former sales assistant who used to work at Matalan (who now works in David and Goliath store in Birmingham) after I overheard her bragging on about her used to work there to another sales assistant and she said it is very easy to get a job there and now because its getting near to Christmas time, their hours will be (and are) very tight.

In my interview I bragged (not like a snobby girl) about my experience working at Primark and that I live about less than 5 minutes away (in walking distance), so my hours and my availability will be much more flexible. Plus I dressed very smart.

So is getting a job at Matalan now easier than getting a job at Primark?

I would expect you to get the job having had the experience, and also living quite near to the store. Providing you are clean and smart, and assuming that your attitude is alright you should be OK. I don't think it's any easier getting a job at either place, if you've got what it takes. As you say it's coming up to Christmas they'll be wanting extra staff. Good luck.
Good luck I hope you get it.
