Wild Bird food- no waste or no mess

can anyone please tell me the difference between the NO WASTE and NO MESS bird food. I always thought the 'no mess' one meant it didnt self seed but ive got an abundance of stuff growing near where the bird table is!

I pull up the sproutings & feed them to my chooks who relish them.!
Perhaps the no mess etc. refers to Fat Balls - er. no rude remarks please!! LOL
I feed sunflower hearts, no waste, no mess, they eat the lot, so it doesnt get chance to root.
