For me and the wife, it has to be The Bluewater Shopping Centre. The rest, from all the ones we've been to at least, seem pale in comparison.

We've been to Lakeside recently, and a few previous times before that. It's not really a "special" shopping experience to tell the truth. It's everything Bluewater isn't, the architecture and design both inside and outisn't as spectacular it's just like your local shopping centre, and the retailers are your bog standard everyday high street chains, you know it's not really special when you've got local businesses, a Woolies and a Gregs in there,.
I hate to say it but Bluewater bigger. better and classier, it's Oxford Street in comparison. And i hope it's not the only Mall in it's class in England.

fabemmy, is Meadow Hall really that good?
I prefer Bluewater to Lakeside. Its also quicker to get to from South London.

Croydon has 2 shopping centres, the Whitgift Centre and Centrale.
in answer to your quiestion dave_c yes Medowhall is that good. its one of the best in the country
Yes, Meadowhall is good. We dont have 'common' shops there either, if that is what you were implying. There are lots of upmarket shops in Meadowhall, and its in Yorkshire!
