apple problems

i can not get my apple ibook to connect to the internet i took my ethernet cable from my home computer plugged it in to the apple and when i go to the internet it keeps saying server not found? any help would be much appreciated thx

You're not giving much information here as to what you've done. Have you actually set up the internet connection on the Mac (Internet Connect)?

i have tried to but still get a server not found error so i dont know what im doing wrong.
