Very difficult to place this in any of the given categories, however, here goes: are the pre-euro postage stamps of the European nations now using this currency still valid for postage within a given country, for example if one had say, a French 2 franc postage stamp is it still valid for postal use if posted in France? Have they been demonetised and if so is there any way of obtaining a refund for any unused stamps still held?

Same as the UK, the stamps would need to be sent to the postal service of the country for a refund & there will be an admin charge
