At a guess I would think Super Chunky is Chunkier than Chunky....
Question Author
I realise that, but is it the thickness of double chunky or what?
I would phone a local Wool Shop and ask them.

Thanks. They don`t exist anywhere near me. They`re like gold dust.
Chunky is usually knitted on a 5 or 6mm needle and is a thick wool of 10 to 14 ply.Super or double chunky is a heavier weight 14 ply and upwards and and would be knitted on a bigger needle... a size 8mm and upwards for some of what they call big or bulky wools.
Whatever you do don't substitute one for the other as the pattern will not be correct.

Thanks for your replies. I`ve bought some super chunky on line & got a real bargain.
