Samsung A13 32Bit System Disappointment

This is just incredible...As some of you recently read, especially Barry 1010, I had problems returning a combi microwave to Lidl when it was not as described. I finally got my refund a few days ago but that left me trying to search for another. I decided, after lots of research, to buy a Sharp, ordered it with Argos for collection yesterday.
A staff member put it in my car, huge box, and I left it there until some invited friends arrived. They carried it in, we unpacked it & put it on the worktop. Straight away, something didn't look right but we were all going out for dinner so decided to leave it till today. That is when my suspicions were right.
On the Argos website it states the width is 36.2cm which was ideal for where it was going to sit. Unfortunately, they had made an error & the true measurement is 53.4cm.
When I looked at the Quick Start Guide provided, it states a minimum space of 20cm is required between the sides of the microwave & any adjacent walls or objects. This wasn't possible on one side with the correct width. This information was not stated on Argos listing/website either.
There is no way I can possibly lift it/take it to my car to return it as it weighs 20kg (I am in my late 70's). The friends who helped me went home last night & they live 30 miles away so will be unable to assist.
My only option is to pay someone to help me but that will cost quite a bit I am sure & why should I be out of pocket for no fault of my own. I am going to ring Argos customer service in the morning to see what they say.
Just to add, I do have the box 🙂 but again, like the Lidl purchase, it had to be broken down to be removed. The polystyrene packaging was mostly broken so that is of no use now. Oh heck, I could really do without all this hassle

I cannot see any e-mail addresses anywhere on their site.
There is a live chat facility so I suggest you use that to-morrow to ask for an email address for customer services as you want to put the complaint in writing and have a trail of the correspondence.
If they cannot do that tell them you want someone from Customer Service to e-mail you directly so that you can get it started.
I would also ask as they are aware of an error in the measurements, why has it not been corrected?
Potential customers should not need to wade through the questions every time a purchase is being considered to make sure the description is accurate.
Well, it has been returned but not without a hiccup! The assistant (same one I saw yesterday) told me I was looking at the wrong section on the listing & had to get a tape measure to prove I was right. I knew I hadn't made a mistake. "These mistakes can happen" I was then informed. Sorry, but it should be checked as someone else will make the same mistake. Another thing I mentioned was there was nothing on their listing saying that it needed a minimum of 20cm from any wall/object each side. She told me it wasn't a requirement to say that as it is stated in the instruction booklet. Right or wrong?
THECORBYLOON, I noticed the same, no email shown. I believe the live chat will connect to their so-called, generally unhelpful customer service I spoke to yesterday & Sunday but I will give it a go.
Thank you to everyone who has helped with this saga. I appreciated your help & advice
What a relief it is returned. I suggest that before you order your next oven, check it out on the manufacturer's website first. Hopefully that will have all the information you need and it will be correct. Also read the reviews. A lot of retailers have the manual for you to download on the product page or you might find it on an Amazon listing. I always read that if possible - complicated care instructions and too many 'must do's put me off.
Important information can be hidden in the small print of the manual. For example, I bought a BT TrueCall phone some years ago. Only in tiny print on page 33 of the manual did it tell me it will not work in a power cut. It's not really a problem for me as I have a mobile phone but it could be a problem for some.
I've had a quick look at combi microwaves on the Curry's website and none of them stated the clearance needed. That is important safety information and can make some models unsuitable for the intended space, so I think it should be stated on the listing.
Just as nowhwere on the box or in the listing does it ever say air fryers should not be used under a wall cupboard - but that is stated in every manual I have seen (a warning ignored by many).
Fingers crossed for number 3. I'd be interested to know which one you decide to buy
Thanks again Barry. I have appreciated all your help. I will take your advice & look at manufacturer's websites before ordering whatever I decide on.
Honestly, I guess I am just unlucky. I ordered some items online recently. That package arrived last night & I have only this afternoon opened it. Incredibly, one item I ordered is missing! The packaging had no holes & even if it had, it would have been too big to go through a gap. A email will be sent tonight. I checked my order in case it was out of stock but it clearly stated the things were on their way. Things hopefully will improve for me soon
When I ordered from Argos what turned out to be the tackiest lawn mower ever made, a Bosch too, I arranged for it to be collected from home, not sure if they do the same for goods bought from the shop, but it was collected within a couple of days and I was refunded almost immediately.
Good luck with it.
