I'm looking for one of those recipe books that you write your own recipes in, they're usually decorated with pictures of food and are separated into different scetions like 'cakes, 'soups' etc. Does anyone know where I can buy one on the high street? Book stores etc?

Software here for online download to do on your own PC http://www.accuchef.com/ Not the 'write on' book you want but may be an option. Alternative here as well. http://www.limepeak.com/ca/

There are quite a few programmes that will adapt contents to offer yields if you are running a big kitchen, but the PC versions may do you for the home as they are not expensive and can be printed out and stored in a ring binder so that you can build up a collection of favourites.

Try http://www.ktwoproducts.com/products.php for a flip top write-on design as well as a file for cut-out recipes or try http://www.dodopad.com/cookbook/cookbk1.htm and ask for retailers details on the info. link for stockists.

my mum got me a ring binder with sections in it and it is covered in a beautiful fabric, it has blank sheets to write recipes on or you could take them from mags and hole punch them. mine was from matalan and they are sold out where i live but you may be luckier than me!!
they are selling some in John Lewis. I don't know is they are the ones your after but I have one and I use it all the time.
