I've read the email saying the elderly are getting the first hour to shop in store

I've been trying to look on their website and elsewhere what age elderly is

Is it 70 and over?
Is it every day or just Thursday
That this hour is available for the elderly to shop??

Yes it is over 70 or people with disabilities, only seen tomorrow mentioned.

Thursday only at present I understand. No requirement to prove age but over 70 has been mentioned. Limit on number of items that can be purchased in place.
Stay safe.
Sainsbury's are opening all their stores at their usual times tomorrow but with the first hour's shopping restricted to elderly and vulnerable shoppers. It's only for tomorrow but, as of next week, there will be dedicated delivery slots for such customers who order online:

It's a nightmare trying to discover which local supermarkets are doing what for the vulnerable, and when. Was asked to check, heart sank. Knew the websearches wouldn't uncover anything.
All very well if you've got internet.

My uncle doesn't - doesn't even use a computer or smart phone.

We've been getting stuff for him and he stays about 12 miles away.

I really appreciate your replies. Thank you
Iceland stores are now dedicating the first 2 hours, 8am to 10am, to the elderly.
Today was the first, and there were a few people who didn't take it too well. There's always one...

//To ensure our more vulnerable and elderly customers can shop in-store, we will prioritise one hour every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning between 9-10am (except in our Express stores) and ask that you respect this.//
We've just been to our local Sainsbury's in the "old fogey" hour - what a complete waste of time. We only wanted a bit of veg and milk and thought we'd go then because the store would be quiet, so easy to avoid people - WRONG. Store was heaving, so difficult to stay away from others; we'll take our chance in the daytime next time we need a top-up. In fact, we'll be going back because we need prescriptions and the pharmacy wasn't open; maybe there will be some milk then.
its confusing, my brother asked if he should take his effin passport to be blunt, they don't know what to do for the best...
They just had heavies on the door at ours (Calcot Sainsbury's) who seemed to be going by appearance. I didn't see any "young" people on their own shopping for an elderly/infirm person; all the young ones I saw had a responsible adult with them.
Apparently it was a waste of time. Stores crowded, no parking spaces, get in there and it was pointless being let in to view the empty shelves anyway. And one had to get there smartish in the early morning, for what ? More a case of looking as if they're doing something than actually being able to.
