Hi, I volunteer in a local charity shop and this week we had a large donation of expensive-looking photo albums and photomontage books, boxed and in new condition. Some are by the maker GF Smith and some Torino, but I have been unable to find guide prices online. Can anyone advise me as to their value? Thanks

If it’s in a charity shop, £2 or £3

Alternatively you can hike it up to £20 and see if it sells at that price. ;-)

In all honesty I think charity shops are getting to be a bit of a rip off. The % that actually goes to the charity is pitiful and if people realised they would be aghast. The trading arm of most ‘big’ charities pay about 5or 6p in the £ to the main charity. And A lot of them are over pricing second hand stuff that I often see priced at more than you pay new. Which is ridiculous. And as for them selling new stuff. I don’t go to a charity shop for new stuff anyway.

But anyway that doesn’t help you. Sorry.

People tend to keep photos on their phones or in the cloud nowadays. I don’t think anyone would pay much for albums.
alternatively, if they're old enough, the photos in them might be of interest to historians. Perhaps 40 years old minimum. But not if they're just wedding photos, unless anyone famous is in them.
