I`ve sold something on ebay. I worked out how I would like to send it and the cost. I haven`t used ebay for ages and the interface has changed. There is a link for 'Print packing slip' I`m sure they used to charge for that. Is it free now and do I just print it off and put it in the package? There is also a section where it asks me to input the weight and tick a Royal Mail conditions box. I was going to just go to the PO and sort it out there. What's that all about - is it an optional way of paying for postage via ebay?

Just pack the item securely, put your address on the back as normal, take to the post office and get some kind of proof of postage. You dont have to print a packing slip or input the weight or tick the box. Just tick first class, second class, or whatever you are using. I dont know why ebay try to make things so difficult for us. You know they take their fee out of your postage price as well now? And if you renew an item or they automatically renew it for you, they will automatically put a Best Offer option as well, so people can make you an offer, you can delete this option if you edit each item separately. Dont ask me why they started doing this,so annoying.
Please send everything Recorded. Proof of posting isn't enough. They need proof of delivery. I send everything 2nd Class Recorded these days, just to be on the safe side. If anything goes missing then you have proof that it has/n't been delivered!

Yes, I always post everything second class signed for. I see on the 'Print packing slip' that there is an address for returns. I have a no returns policy so I guess there is no point in doing that. The old interface was more user friendly in my opinion.
Even though you put no returns, there are certain circumstances where they will allow returns. If the buyer starts a dispute it can go either way!
You can pay for postage via Ebay. If you want to use Royal Mail you can pre-pay through Ebay and print your own postage label out (you get a small discount doing it this way rather than paying at the Post Office). Or I have found it is generally cheaper for parcels to use Hermes. You can search for your local drop off point, and it is a tracked service. Hermes labels are not pre-pay, you are invoiced once a month, & only charged if the label is actually used i.e. when the parcel is taken to the shop.
