Called to visit friend there - rung her doorbell, rapped the letterbox - she has become a bit deaf and is at the back of the house etc. She won't accept being as deaf as she really is.

But I know she had a bell alert on her coffee table and could hear the doorbell when I called previously.

Anyway phoned her there and she was in the whole time but didn't hear letterbox, bell or whatever.

She said the bell batteries needed replaced too often she couldn't be bothered anymore.

Is there anything I could get for her and also easy enough for me to install. Thanks.

Look here conne..no batteries required , plugs in and has a light that activates too
Question Author
that looks good Murray - cos I was still thinking of batteries which she can't be bothered with - but the plug in - should be great.

I think she would still need battery in the transmitter on the door.
First review mentions it's not very waterproof, is her front door exposed?
Question Author
I saw that first review Mamy - but the rest of the reviews were good.

Yes you could say her door is exposed but aren't most doors.

Murray - is the LED light on the buttony thingmajig.

I will review a bit more tomorrow

But you know what - not bad for less than a tenner. I'll probably get it for her tomorrow.

Question Author
Andres - do you mean a battery on the buttony thing
Sorry, just thought to mention it, some have porches, my door isn't exposed.

Hope you sort it.
Yes--^^^it's in the push button on the door. We have had one for a few years now and need a battery in ours. The receiver can be plugged in anywhere in the house so it's very handy.Maybe they have altered them now so do check tomorrow.
Question Author
thanks all - will go ahead and order it - this'll be great for her - she's not too well and it will be good for her for somebody to do something for her. x

PS - I will try it in my own home so that I know what | am doing when I go to hers.

I have some hearing loss and have push button bell at the front door with plug-ins in the hallway and kitchen. Think it is the same one that minty mentioned from Amazon. Amazing how many folk still knock at the door though!
Question Author
Maggie - could you tell me where it is better for my friend to have the plug ins ie her living room where she is all the time or her hall nearer to the doorbell. Thanks
So glad I saw this JJ. Since I had a new front door I nearly always miss deliveries from Amazon, and I remebered we once had a doorbell with portable ringers. Trouble is,it had somehow got tuned in to everyone on the avenue who had one! I was never away from the door! Thanks for reminding me, I shall have a search for it tomorrow. I've gone deaf in one ear :(

Bell should be arriving tomorrow which is great.

However, when I looked at what is in the package - according to it - there are no screws etc.

I am now looking for strong double sided adhesive FOAM for a tiny bell per se but after paying for the bell don't want to be spending a lot more money.
That's naughty, they show screws and an adhesive pad in the bottom picture.
Any DIY outlet should have what you need.

I never noticed that Mamy - will have another duke LOL
Question Author
Mamy I didn't take the sellotape business on board thinking it would be in the package.
Question Author
looking at the sellotape - I know I used them for something years ago and I had loads of them but I have been decluttering for quite some time and I know I don't have them anymore.

I didn't want to buy a load of them.
