Can anyone tell me how I can get a bra with the correct back size.I know sizes vary according to makes these days .I have a 40d bra,the cup fits great but the back is a bit tight.Would a 42 c for example, have the same size cup and wider back?
Thanks

No, the letter is the cup size and the number is the width. You'll probably need to try them on though, they vary so much.

So the backs are the same only the cup changes, yes
You probably still want d, if the cup fits, measure round where the band goes to get the inches.

But if the cup fits why buy another size, just means the back is tight,I use extenders but only cum in nude.white and black.
I'm sorry, I thought that's what you were asking. A 42d would have the same cupsize as a 40d, but be 2 inches bigger around the back.
Ever since we went metric British Titties have gone askew. After size 38 ins, Cup sizes should be abandoned & one should think Basin. Something else to thank the EU for.
Is there nothing folk won't blame on the EU?
NO

Thank you everyone for your replies on the complexity of bra fitting,Pixie,I think 42d would probably be better for me as long as the same make of bra. Thanks.

A 42C bra does have the same size cup as a 40D. The letters represent the difference in size between the ribcage and the embonpoint.
It sounds like it... just measure yourself around where the band goes if you want to double-check.

Wow,bigbad, certainly lathe range of colours.THANK YOU!!?!
Good grief, we learn something new every day !!
Exactly, Pixie, so a D cup in a 40 will be bigger than a D cup in a 42
don,t forget that it is the band that holds your bra in place and not the straps so the band is meant to feel tight on a new bra
Gosh this all seems very complicated in order to wear something so uncomfortable!..... ;-)

I have just parceled up all my bought and never worn bras to send to a charity......
I have given up on support and enhanced cleavage......and I am making my own bralets for fit and comfort.... if I bounce then I bounce.........:-)
