Amazon Prime Slipping?

Amazon 'Prime' account holders pay a lot of money for quicker (cheaper?) deliveries. Last week or two, I've noticed stuff previously on Prime/Next Day delivery slipping back to 2 or 3 days.

Fair enough, given the late snow, there are exceptional circumstances, but am I alone in thinking it's also just an excuse to slip back a day or two, which won't be re-instated in future?

Decimilisation, oil price prices, etc. Any old excuse?

I've only had the problem twice. Black Friday and this weekend. I'll forgive this weekend because of the weather, but not Black Friday.
I have noticed the issue when the item is sold by someone else and only delivered by Prime but not when the item is sold by amazon.
I don't have anything to do with menial home tasks, but Mrs sqad does and i have asked her.

"No" she said, " Amazon prime is brilliant"
No delays and worthwhile offers.

I think you probably are alone in thinking that, because it is batty.
People use Amazon and Amazon Prime because it is a good serivice. If the service permanently deteriorates, then they will lose sales.
I've ordered loads of stuff recently and nothing has been late.
Coincidentally, the order for this weekend (that I placed yesterday and was told would arrive on Monday) is actually out for delivery at the moment and should arrive today.
An awful lot of money. I just go for free delivery instead of Prime, and it's usually pretty quick.
I don't think it is a lot of money, not when you get TV thrown in as well. The next day delivery is an excellent service that I wouldn't now, be without.
You get tv channels with prime as well. My OH watched them so he reckons it's worth it.
Apart from the TV licence I don't pay for TV.

I'm not bothered about seeing Clarkson, May and Hammond.
There's more to it than that.
"There's more to it than that."
But not much more - seems to be mostly ancient movies that have already been shown on TV.
I get Bosch and Life in Pieces, the other half watches Clarkson and co, so we do get our money's worth.
Bosch any good?
I really like it, but then I'm a massive fan of Michael Connelly books. If you like crime drama then I'd recommend it.

Well, I think those of you who answered my question and said that all is well with Amazon are wrong on this one.

Amazon used to have Customer Discussion Forums. They closed these last December, so no chance of asking the bulk of fellow users what they think.

Inevitably (if you'd been writing the story) the Big Firm gobbles up all the small firms, offers the world (or at least Prime delivery), then when it's got a virtual monopoly, it pulls the plug.

Mark my words. Prices will go up, delivery will get slower. And everyone will say "well, that's all right, isn't it..."

The only time I have used Amazon Prime is when my laptop packed in and I urgently needed a new one the next day. As soon as it arrived I cancelled the Prime service. Anything else I am happy to wait a few days for.
You seem to be under the impression that "Prime" means free next-day delivery only....but there is so much more. For about £1.50 a week (based on a yearly sub of £79) you get rather a lot more....but, of course, it all depends on how you use the services....

I have only ever had a delay once and that was due to the extreme weather.
I use lots of things on Amazon prime and consider it value for money - I certainly do not consider it a lot of money or slipping in any way
I've used Amazon Prime for a long time.....it's a fantastic service. I have only ever had one delay and I was advised of that by email.....the reason given...the weather....was understandable.....x
