Does anyone know how much the delivery charges are with Ikea. I can't seem to get a quote without going to the store and purchasing first!?

Im buying 4 wardrobes and other bedroom furniture and need to know if it will be cheaper to hire a van, or get Ikea to deliver (to Surrey/Hants borders).

Thanks

Hi Danny,

It depends on your postcode (ie how far away you are from the store) - but my delivery was 45 and Im less than 30 miles from the store. This delivery charge was for 'everything' I bought, not per item or restricted quantity. So you could fill their van and it would cost you no more than the 45.

Plus they deliver in about 3 days.

I think it would be cheaper to have them deliver it and then you don't even have to pick up all the boxes and carry them round the store. You just go to each Customer Services point and add another item to you order list, and then when you've finished pay in the normal way and then visit the delivery point to book where and when.

Good Luck!

I went to Ikea Croydon, and i live Camberley way and they said it would cost 93.
We live about 10 miles from the Gateshead store and its 50 delivery
you can try www.pickupmonkeys.co.uk you can shop for IKEA goods online and they deliver the goods to you if you live near the m4.
There are a few companies about such as Shopanddeliverikea who deliver in and around Oxfordshire. I think time deliver in Essex they go by price usually so tot up your order and chck out their prices. They are much cheaper than Ikea and they do the shopping for you which is the best bit. I think they max out at 150 quid and start round about 40-45.

We live 28 miles away from Gateshead and were charged 35 (but only had one trolley), they add 5 per extra trolley after the first three I think.

However be careful, after a delivery date of 29 Dec and two additional dates when item wasn't delivered (through fault of ikea not passing item to delivery company) we finally received the item on Saturday 7 January 2006. May be worth hiring a van and picking the goods up yourself. Very stressful!

I have a small property portfolio and use ikea as a source of cheap furniture, i find when you go in the store and look at the clearance corner you can tend to find some really good deals on ex display or return items. For all our deliveries we use a company called pickdropgo.co.uk very friendly guys and so far always been pleased with the service.
