Yes it is. I do it all the time. Just make sure to take off the item on the other sites if it sells.
Is it okay to win the bidding on an item then tell the seller that you don't want it?
eBay rules are that if you bid on an item you are under contract to buy it if you win. If there is a valid reason you can't complete the purchase you have to ask the seller to cancel the sale and give the reason. There are only a few reasons you can cancel a sale, you will be asked to choose the reason from a list supplied by eBay.
If you are selling an item on another site as well as eBay you need to state that the item is also for sale on another site and that it can be withdrawn at any time. I would not bid on an item if I knew it could be withdrawn before the sale, and I don't think many people would bid under those circumstances. I don't think eBay would be happy if you made a habit of doing it.
Oh I meant, I only take it off Ebay if there are NO bids and it sells on another site.

And the other way around, if there is a bid on eBay I take it off the other site.
silliemillie That's OK but the number of times you have withdrawn an item from sale is recorded by eBay in your profile on your 'sellers dashboard' Too many and they will drop your rating from 'standard' to 'Below standard' . I am presently rated as 'Above Standard' so I would not want to risk my rating by withdrawing sales unless it was unavoidable.
Oh thanks for the tip Eddie, I didn't realise that. I am above average at the moment so will be more careful to keep that in the future.
