I have an antique China plate with the hallmark of FW & Co and it has a lion between the FW and the Co with Royal Oban, England underneath it. I cannot find anything online that matches it exactly and wondered if anyone had any info on it and does anyone know if the plate is worth anything?? Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you got a local auction house, the one near us is very good, we took a few things in, including a couple of revolting plates I was going to take to the tip. They recognised the plates immediately and I got £160 for them.

Thanks...yes there is a good sale room near us..I have a few bits and pieces to take but just wondered if anyone had any ideas. hopefully this one is worth a few quid!
Here is a pottery mark for FW and Co.. You could resarch starting with that perhaps. Are you sure it says "Royal Oban"? That sounds like a hotel in Argyle.
Are you sure about the lettering? Oban's in Scotland.....
Thanks Captain, I didn't come up with that one.
Woolies?
Cynic Svejk!
I've got some old Woolies plates, they're collectible these days.

Thanks Stuey...yr link was helpful and took me to an exact match. It's by F Winkle and Co and Royal Oban is the design. I will get it valued to find out more and see what it's worth.
Havey, let us know how it turns out.
