I got a gift card of £30, can this be returned back in store for refund ? A friend of mine was saying that this wouldn't be refundable - is this right ?

I have the receipt for it.

Wouldn't have thought so.. if you had an item, you'd get store credit as opposed to the cash, so I doubt they'll dole out cash for a gift card... Flog it on ebay...

Is it a store you won't use, but you know someone who would? If so, sell it to them.

No refunds on gift cards. You will have to spend them. And most times you do not get any change if it is less than what the card is. You can spend over and pay the difference.
