Victoria's Secret has been criticised over their Geisha collection.

Is it a tribute to a beautiful race and culture? Or is it, as suggested, "racialised fetishising against Asian women"?

Were they wrong to use the expression "sexy little fantasy"? Isn't that what we all need sometimes?

Will the AB resident lingerie consultant (sqad) have the answer?

Not sure. I think she's an extra from a Sci Fi movie.
I can't wait to hear what the underwear aficionado has to say...
"repurposing" fer firk's sake!

I included the word "knickers" in the title to make sure he came.

(so to speak)

it is both JJ...ALL men have fetishes although many refuse to accept this as it is described in some individuals as "mucky"..."perverted" and dare i say this on AB....."perverted."

To me, it is beautiful, natural, erotic and just made for the female form.

Good summing up by sqad.

I wonder if the chopsticks are necessary? You wouldn't want to be playing out your sexy little fantasy, and then roll on a chopstick!
read "depraved" for the last "perverted."

Interesting comment about "knickers".......I sued to use the term, panties or briefs, BUT apparently and from reliable sources, the word "knickers" turn many women on.....

lawyers, briefs ... geddit
at the risk of falling foul of Goodwin's law...

Supposing this had been a collection of Tyrolean underwear bedecked with swastikas, with whips instead of chopsticks, so you could act out your fantasies... would that have been acceptable for a big company (as opposed to a basement in Soho) to be selling?

If not, what's the difference exactly? Are we allowed to have one sort of fantasy but not another? Are we allowed to fetishise one culture but not another?

I don't have a logical answer to any of this.
no jj, //sued// instead of used
Question Author
Interesting thought, jno.

ha ha and LOL ... humber, you're on a roll this morning!
one for max mosley perhaps jno? :)
I thought of mentioning him but didn't, humbersloop - as you'll remember it was demonstrated that although he liked being tended to by German ladies, no Nazism was involved, so suggesting that would have been extremely libellous :-)
ahem, allegedly
