con artists the lot of them
I can't see the point but it gives you a choice, I suppose. You aren't forced to buy either.
Stupid? You were in Tesco, weren't you? So, yes.

con artists? How??? They've given you a choice, take it. Many people may find two small packs easier to store round the house than one large one (I would).

You didn't have to look very far 2sp - It was a big display as you entered the store. I realise that these promotions are sent down from on high and they just 'have to do it', but surely someone on the staff would have noticed and thought - that makes us look stupid

You're not wrong em10
Found something similar in Sainsburys before Christmas only it was for something else - I can't remember what it was - I bought the one that wasn't on offer turned out cheaper
Question Author
I suppose so - It just looked so daft.

I shop at Tesco gingejbee because we get10% off
I shop at Tesco for the Reward Points which are very good, I have saved loads on days out and jewellery but you have to double check some of the prices instore. Sometimes the four pack of juices are more expensive than the single packs. Also check your bill - the offers don't always show up and they have often given me a refund.
i believe they are con artists, most people don't have time to look that hard, all the stores do it, and i have pulled up our local supermarket for the same sharp practice more than once. You don't have to buy, very true, but like us it's the only one around, i prefer a market which is some distance away, for fruit and veg, and sainsburys because their staff are friendlier and the choice is better, and i do look hard because i hate being conned
There were two like that in Tescos here last week (Truro) one was butter and the other were their black bin bags.
If you have time to shop around, look at this website before your shop :

mysupermarket.co.uk

I often do this when I am looking for special offers on certain items.
Like Baileys mmmmmm
Question Author
yes smurf chops I do the same - thank you for those jno - had a good laugh at them

Thank you all for your feed back
is someone doing 18 Baileys for £7? Tell me more!
I shop on line at Tesco and they tell me if I have missed a promotion so that I can go back and take advantage of it. So far I have had nothing to grumble about but, of course, that may change.
It's not just tesco, I was in HMV when they had one of their offers on DVDs. Two for £10. I walked a little further down the store and found the same two DVDs I'd wanted from the offer on sale for £4 each.

I do think a lot of the time it's just down to a lack of thought. They are selling thousands of products. Mistakes are going to happen. You're still going to get stuff cheaper and you do have the option to go somewhere else all together.
There were some Ritz biscuits on sale at Asda some time back - £1.04 for one box or two boxes for £1!
