Repair of goods from abroad

Friend bought a new nintendo dsi on ebay from Hong kong just a month or so ago .It has a very minor fault of a dead pixel -will nintendo uk repair it under warranty for free?

If you buy something in a shop abroad and it has a worldwide warranty there`s not usually a problem. Don`t know about ebay though. If you have the warranty and you got it from a proper shop you may be OK. If you got it from a private seller though, I doubt it.
A lot of items from hong kong China etc are fakes. The only way to tell is to take it to a store and ask
I doubt they even will see a single dead pixel as a fault.
