You pour the milk in separately - or you used to. Things may have moved on since I had one.
We have a small thermos type bottle that we keep the milk in overnight.

But you would put the milk in the cups the night before, ready for the morning?
Depends how warm the bedroom is. I take a flask of coffee to bed, I find it much easier.
No, otherwise the milk can go off overnight, especially during the summer.
I'd never put milk in the cup first.
The milk should always go in first when making tea.
And when making instant coffee as boiling water can make it bitter and the cold milk cools it.
Get some single serving uht cartons to keep upstairs.
You can put milk in first if you've made tea in a pot. But if you're making tea in a cup with a tea bag then the milk would reduce the temperature of the water and it wouldn't brew properly.
I still wouldn't leave milk in a cup overnight though.
