What do you think about man bags? i know they are very practical but don't you think they look slightly effeminate? Am I correct in thinking they are mostly used by gay men or is that a misconception?

Def a misconception I am as straight as a die but use a shoulder bag for practical purposes because I hate bulging pockets & find I can get everything I need to carry with me into the bag ( bought ages ago from National Trust Shop so not a fashion bag) Ron.

My bf uses one when he goes to work. It's just a leather satchel thing. It's quite nice actually. I don't think it looks gay. It looks better then him walking round with his suit trouser pockets bulging with all the junk he has. Plus his sandwiches would get squised and warm.

i use a man bag for my laptop and files, and i fancied johnny depp once. so proof therefore that man bags are definitely for the gays.

Certainly not a gay thing, david - my men have often used bags, if only to carry smoking paraphernalia.

I like a man who is man enough to use his own bag and not mine ;-)

My uncle was way ahead of his time and always used a man bag way back in the late 70's (and most likely still uses one) - I used to think it was cool

Bag is an encumberance - Prefer a bulgy pockets to lugging one around.

Don't think its a sign of sexuality just a sign of the times.

The small 'clutch' baggy things are very continental.. my father-out-law is permanently attached to his...!! The 'across the body' satchel' type is very preppy... but neither gay in my opinion... takes a real man to own a bag..!!
