Different stocking filler for young kids

Was just about to throw out some marmalade glass jars with metal lids when I realised they could be turned into some cheap Christmas stocking fillers for kids. I've just been to the garden centre where Thompson & Morgan have a wonderful new range of colourful edible sprouting seed packets @ �1.99 each.
So I'm cleaning up the jars which can be used for growing the sprouting seeds in and popping in a packet of sprouting seeds in each one. As they only take 2 - 3 days to start germinating and all the instructions are on the seed packet, hopefully the kids will have something different to keep them stimulated over Christmas.
