Call me old-fashioned, but does anyone else think that Christmas advertising, decorations, shop displays etc should all be banned until at least December 1st? I saw some shops with Christmas stuff in September this year! I for one refuse to even think about anything remotely Christmassy until December.

robbo82, As I was telling someone on here not long ago, cant recall who now! Our local HSBC actually put up a Xmas tree with lights, baubles etc in July! Customer's were coming in amazed,us too as we all had holiday's on our minds not Xmas. The branch manager said it was there to remind customer's Xmas was not far off and to think about saving for it. When we went back a few days later the tree and all the decci's had gone. Should think so too:-))
I agree, but unfortunately the early decoratating of shops must be an attraction to customers or they wouldn't do it.
If they must, then November is plenty early enough
On QVC the television shopping channel they had a Christmas day during August. I refused to watch it! We were in the middle of a heatwave at the time.
It's madness!!
Yep i agree or at least wait until November!!!
i used to work in a big supermarket and we get the decs in the warehouse in july so each time we go in we see it, crazy!!
No decorations etc until 24th December I reckon.
