Strange noises

About 10 minutes ago I kept hearing strange noises coming from little Tiggs room through the baby monitor. The noise has gone now but it sounded very like a radio where you're trying to find a frequency and its making whizzy crackly noises. Don't really know how to explain the noise, but anyway, it was deffinitely not little Tiggs. I heard the same sound a few weeks ago and I'm a bit puzzled.

Any guesses or explanations anyone?

Thanks

next door neighbours hairdryer switched on? Mobile phone or other electrical equipment nearby?

I do hope this isn't going to turn into a ghost/alien thread...
It's picking up interference from something. What sort is it?
Local taxi firm ?

Its a Tommee Tippee Sensor Monitor Red.

There is no one living nextdoor on that side SB since the cow from hell moved out a year ago. I'm just after a simple explanation SB.

I don't have a taxi firm near me Ladybird.
Is that one where you plug unit direct into socket? Or a cordless digital one?

I had to get a digital one replaced once. Was happily listening to little crx snoring, then next minute a woman started singing. Turns out I was listening to next doors baby!

The plug in one I use at my mums does get interference when heating switches over etc
We used to have one that made an odd noise and the same noise would come through on the TV too - never got to the bottom of it.

Its the one with cords that plug in. It also came with a sensor pad that you put under the mattress but I don't use that. I'm wondering if someone is using a CB radio in the vicinity but I haven't got a clue if it would affect the monitor.
Through your TV you say?

They're heeeeere!

The most logical explanation is that your monitor is picking up static activity from major nearby radio transmitters ie. police, ambulance.
If you want a freakier explanation, you could possibly be receiving EVP!
Maybe your house is haunted!

Its just so weird that it was making strange noises for literally 5 minutes and then stopped. As I said that same thing happened a few weeks ago and I went upstairs to check if it was little Tiggs and he was fast asleep. Couldn't even hear him breathing.
Highly unlikely it's anything spooky, tigger, so don't worry. You could try a different monitor if worried but I think most experience strange noises at times
Cher singing on Crap Factor.

Lol Count, I did think about that a few weeks ago and dismissed it.

I think you're probably right Red. I really don't want to spend more on monitors so I'll just put it down to static electricity. I live about 4 miles from Crystal Palace radio tower so that could be whats causing it. It has stopped now anyway and I can hear little Tiggs coughing. He's got a bit of a cold.

And thanks to CJ for the word "static" which is what I was looking for to describe it in my OP.

Thanks everyone :o)

You dont need to have a taxi firm near you tigger , its hopefully the driver of the taxi getting in touch with the base ( main office )
dont let it freak you out there will be a reasonable explanation x

"Listens" Zippy? I would have thought he would be watching porn rather than listening to it.

My parents and their neighbours appear to have the same type of doorbell and every time someone presses their bell they don't hear but the neighbours do and vice versa. Lol
