This guy must surely be in a unique position having won both Nobel and Ig Nobel prizes?

I actually thought the magnetically levitated frog was pretty cool and the Ig Nobel award undeserved. Now his credibility is clearly vindicated as graphene would be the most important substance to have been discovered since metal.

How big do you see the future for graphene?

How can the Ig Nobel prize be "undeserved"? They are a scientific "in joke" basicaly a laugh at certain research and the side issues presented,
This is a brilliant discovery. I wonder if it can be patented to get maximum rewards for Manchester University and Britain?
In another field entirely, I seem to remember Sandra Bullock being up for an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year - and turning up for the Razzie!
The Ig nobel prize isn't an award for bad or incorrect research. But for anomalies.

Once they gave it to someone whos staed that a black hole fitted the vision of hell (or something like that)

My impession is the Ig Nobel is recognition for research that seemed pointless.

ig·no·ble/igˈnōbəl/Adjective
1. Not honorable in character or purpose.

Levitating a frog is a classic demonstration of diamagnetism. Most materials, including living things, actually repel magnetic fields. A strong enough field can cause a repulsion force stronger than gravity.

Comparing Hell and a Black Hole deserves to win the Ig Nobel.
