hi how old does a baby have to be before they can go swimming ?? were on holiday to haven park in sept and my friends baby will be 11 weeks old hes a big baby 9 pound 2 and a half born !! can he go swimming or no ??

I am sure that they have to have had their fist set of jabs before you can take them into a public pool well that was the advice I was given by my health visitor. I hope this helps and he should have had them by then as my baby had her first jabs at 8 weeks so hopefully he should be able to enjoy swimming with you x x
i took my sons at 8 weeks after there jabs too
I dropped the kids off at the pool this morning

ive read that its after the first sets of jabs (ie at 16 weeks or so)

Ask your Health Visitor for more information.
You need to make a personal judgement about the hygiene level in the pool and the immunity level of you babe. Bear in mind that council-run pools will be more hygienic than pools in hotels etc and bear in mind than babies raised in mud huts often thrive - as long as you know what you are handling you will know how you want to manage the risks.
I took mine from tiny nappy days in the local council-run wave-pool and they swim like seals.
