Was wondering if it is known yet that those testing positive for and recovering from coronavirus are then immune to catching it again, or are they just as likely to be prone to catching it again?

If they recover they have immunity (as I understand it)
If that's the case why can't they extract anti bodies of those who've survived the virus and make a live vaccine?
Maybe they are, Polly.
Well there's one way to find out. Any volunteers ?
I am sure someone (thinking it was Tilly) recently posted a link saying you can get it twice but i can't find it now.
thanks corby...so the jury is still out......also relapse suggests to me a continuation of a single infection rather than a complete recovery and new infection.
It was me that posted you could get it again on here at 13.25.

'For those patients who have been cured, there is a likelihood of a relapse,' Dr Zhan said at a press conference,

There seem to be no cases to show the truth in this though.
thanks LB sorry for misnaming you
khandro, they may not know....I think the original comment was based on how corona viruses in general behave
well that's what some people are saying......
It's not impossible that the Virus emerged in part due to poor lab conditions, although it's far from the only explanation of origin that's out there right now.
// If that's the case why can't they extract anti bodies of those who've survived the virus and make a live vaccine?//

because the terms in the sentence above are inconsistent

extracting antibodies is a dead process and can never be live
the antibodies would make up a dead passive vaccine ( immune globulin) which by and large have had their day ( Hep B and all that)
