Cheers Ed.

Down 2 lbs this time. Like living on a yo-yo.
Thanks ed and good for you OG going the right way keep it up .
Thanks Ed so much appreciated!
Not a lot Ed and I've been meaning to ask this before.
About 10 years ago - in my mid seventies I had great success with Slimming World.
Now with a knee replacement coming up I thought I would try and lose a bit and I am finding it so much more difficult. I don't think its just the fact that I am much less mobile - I try and et out for a good walk every day even though its painful.
I'm wondering if at age 86 there is some physiological reason for it being so hard.
Perhaps the lovely Sqad or someone with knowledge about this can help me. Cheers x

Wish I had the opportunity to still check every day.

Good morning all,
Sorry that I forgot yesterday. I have crept up two pounds which has put a thunder cloud over my head. Watch this space.
Not a big deal but since January I've lost 1st 2lb. It was more than that till I went on holiday!

Rosie, I'm not very active either; well, I do play golf once a week but not much else. The weight has just trickled away really because I'm just careful what I eat. I don't have sugar in my drinks. That's a good start. I eat as much veg as I can and snack with digestive biscuits. I have the occasional bit of cake but try to avoid fatty foods like chips. I always have two eggs on toast for breakfast, then at lunch I might have a few digestive biscuits with a cup of tea. I just try not to over-do it. It seems to work - but slowly.
hello clarionst and welcome to our posts . That is the best way to do it over the years that is what I have done have the occasional sweet sometimes go a bit too far at times but make a point of seeing that goes off before more sticks to the hips .
Thanks clarion and wendilla for your replies. I have started to lose a bit now and feel more encouraged - 3 lbs in 2 weeks - so - slow but sure I hope. Cheers x
Well yesterday wasn't such a good day. Didn't eat properly all day, hardly any '5 a day' stuff, ended up at the pub. Just totalled up the intake, almost 79% over target for the day :-( Going to make out that day didn't happen.
Same as last week, allegedly.
Another four pound after dog walking with a friend last week, and sharing the cooking giving him a few pointers on filling up with healthier options.

10Clarionst... try swapping your digestive for ryvita currant crunch they are lovely and have even more fibre. Add a low fat cheese spread for a bit of protein. The sweet onion ones are pretty yummy too.
Good morning all,
I got rid of that 2 pounds.....water so am very happy about that. I have been lax with my little walks lately but back on track now? I just got a new pair of wellies. The old ones disintegrated!
Well done rowan and xstitcher .i have gone down a pound no lollies left to tempt me .
OG don't know what to say lol down the pub .what do you drink ?
Dave was like that.. to him a diet meant eating exactly as you have always done but telling people you were on a new healthy eating plan. Heaven forbid that cutting down on his weekly beer day would help, and although I managed to wean down his carbs and fat and add sweetener to the sugar bowl he always viewed my efforts with suspicion. I like to think all those anti oxidants gave us a bit more time together.
I guess I am lucky in that I love to cook and really like vegetables and grains.
Good for you Wendilla, In the winter we say that we can loose in the summer but we tend to forget about all the delicious temptations that are there each summer. I still have a freezer full of ice lollies that I'm afraid to even look at!
