I know we're not discussing the pyramids in various countries in South America, but was wondering if any archaeological/excavation work done there might have some sort of bearing on the Egyptian ones, just to give the experts more information?
There is a theory regarding how the stones were moved using the Nile and canals dug fed by the Nile, to move them on boats to the required locations by boat, in the above link.
In my teens, I read a series of novels (ok, fiction) about Ancient Egypt, but they were an interesting read to my young mind about one particular pyramid being built and the difference between the Nile river.
Must scratch brain cell for the titles.
It's certainly interesting, but one knows what things artisans get up to today. Leaving the odd gap when no one was looking isn't that strange. And who knows, there may be genuine structural reasons for it.
I reckon the builders were more of their time. Trade secrets being lost when the bottom dropped out of the pyramid market.
