1 across - Newspaper's a steal, one to replace FT? (3, 1) I have '? H? I' and I understand that replacing 'FT' with 'i' will give me 'the i' but how does this fit the rest of the clue, please? Is there a newspaper known as The I?

a steal = THEFT and replace the FT in that - The i is a daily newspaper (only 20p, with a decent crossword)
