Hi all,

I have a 1996 Vauxhall corsa, the horn is not working. I am getting positive readings on all connections, (steering wheel to horn connector), the fuse is ok. I know the horn is working as I have tried it in a different car, tried all the combinations, iginition on and off. Nothing

Anyone have any ideas on what I could try please

Thanks

clean the earth wire between the horn and the chassis

enery cloth it until shiny :D
*emery*
I`ve just had to cure this on a Nova. The horn only sounded if one pushed the rim of the steering wheel hard whilst pressing horn push. I had to run a new earth wire to a bolt under the dash & poke the bared end through a plastic bush under the lower part of the (removed temporarily) ignition switch/stalks cowling).
I`ve just compared the Corsa & Nova (I have both) Steering columns & horn pushes & they appear virtually identical. The problem with my Nova was that the inner column wasn`t earthing until pressed to one side or up or down. I didn`t have a suitable puller for the s/wheel (you should NOT try to hammer it off from behind) so tried cleaning the horn contact ring & spring loaded plunger with meths & cotton buds. The indicator & wiper switch cowls need to be (very awkwardly) removed to do this. You can check if you have the same problem by earthing the inner column to say, the outer part of the cig lighter socket or any bare metal you can find.
