i have a solo etude for 2 mallet marimba and i have to preform it tomorrow for an audition unfortunately i have not yet learned a section of it. would it be OK to skip the section an a way where it transitions very cleanly?

the section if played has would be out of time, wrong notes everywhere, and not flow at all. the rest of the peace is fine.

This is not to important of an audition i would still give it my all but there was a series of unfortunate events preventing it from getting completed.

I would just play the bits you are really confident at. They will be listening to your overall ability to play and there's really no point in playing something you can't play yet! If they ask why you missed it out, just be honest and say you hadn't learned that section fluently yet and are still working on it. Good luck!
Better to to leave it out then rather than risk wrecking your audition than 'be out of time, wrong notes everywhere, and not flow at all. '

Best of luck with your audition.
Scarlett's solution sounds like a good one, I'd go with that.
