My FH was prescribed this yesterday (for depression). He took the first one last night. For the first time in ages he slept through the night. Got up took the kids to school and promptly went straight back to sleep. He is sleeping now.

I know the side effects include drowsiness, but this is a tad more than mere drowsiness. Should I be worried?

lmao Sqad, I kind of thought it might be "No big deal". At least he is relaxing for the first time in months instead of rattling round the house getting wound up and shouting at everything!!
No I take Mirtazapine............what strength are the tablets?
Question Author
15mg. I've just been up to him - he is out for the count.

At least I had a good night's sleep because he didn't wake up at 3am and put the tv on!
He's not so bad then.....I was on 30mg tablets for a year, I am now on 15mg ones but get 3 packs every 2 months so's I can take 2 a day if needed. You can take up to 45 mgs a day if necessary, but I've only done that once. To me it was just such a releif to finally be able to get a night's sleep.
Mmmmmm sleep... Can someone post me one please? My sleep has been terrible recently. Ta! ;0)

lol China!

I don't think he is that bad either Craft, I just knew that if he didn't do something he would become bad. He did say this morning that he hopes he is not this sleepy all the time. using my vast medical knowledge and experience (?!) I assured him it would only be like this for the first few days!! lol
No, don't worry.

But, crikey, if that's down to just one tablet- that was quick!!!!

I know Salla! I assume they are working (either that or he snook out in the middle of the night and had a gang bang which is the real reason he is so knackered).
Question Author
He is STILL completely out of it!!!
Make the most of the peace & quiet bar!!

alhough if he's still in the land of nod in about 6 hours' time, you'd better give him a kick....
The best thing is that he actually went to the doctor and is taking the tablets. They will take time to get into his system and allow him to feel better. When he feels better he will be able to cope with life's little traumas without being unbearable to live with.

Let him sleep - but check regularly that he is still breathing. Best wishes to you and your FH.
